His legacy
my oldest son
MY SON, WAS MORE THAN MY SON, HE WAS MY BEST FRIEND, WE TALKED, ABOUT EVERYTHING, AND YES WE DISAGREED ON ALOT OF THINGS TO. BUT THE BOND WE SHARED JUST GREW AND GREW. WE DIDNT HAVE THE BEST LIFE. HIS STEPDAD ABUSED THE FAMILY, AND IT TOOK MANY YEARS TO GET AWAY FROM THAT MAN. MY SON KNEW AND SWORE HE WOULD NOT LET THAT LIFE GET HIM DOWN. HE WORKED AND OWNED HIS FIRST HOME AT 17, YES IT WAS HARD FOR MOM TO LET HIM GO BECAUSE I ALWAYS HAD TO PROTECT HIM. AND WE ALSO HAD TO RAISE THE TO YOUNGEST BOYS HIS BROTHERS, HE HAD THEM WORKING WITH HIM, AND WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING FOR THEM. SO YA SEE HE BECAME THE DAD, AND HE WOULD SAY MOTHER, WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. YA SON I WOULD SAY. BUT WHAT. WELL THESE BOYS HE WOULD SAY. OH HOW RESPECTFUL HE WAS. BUT HE DID GET ANGRY TO.BUT NOT FOR LONG. THEN THE DAY CAME THAT WOULD CHANGE MY WHOLE LIFE. IN DEC-03 HE HAD A SORE THROAT NOTHING NEW FOR HIM HE ALWAYS DID SO I DIDNT WORRY TO MUCH. BUT THEY WANTED TO REMOVE HIS TONSILS. THERE WAS A LUMP. OK IT WAS DONE. THEN 2 WEEKS LATER HE CALLED AND SAID MOM U SITTING DOWN, I SAID OH SON, NO HE SAID SIT DOWN. I THOUGHT HE WAS PLAYING ANOTHER JOKE ON ME. MOM WAS EASY HE SAID. WELL MOM HE SAID I HAVE CANCER. WELL THE STORY GOES ON AND ON. I WATCHED HIM SUFFER AND FIGHT A LONG HARD FIGHT, SO BRAVE SO STRONG, I BECAME WEAKER, AND WEAKER. WATCHING MY SON SO VERY SICK, I DID ALL I COULD FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY. I NEVER NEW HOW MUCH I DEPENDED ON HIM WITH THE OTHER KIDS. WELL I GUESS WE DEPENDED ON EACH OTHER. MAN I MISS HIM, JUST ALITTLE ABOUT THE ONE I LOVE MY SON, MY LIFE. HIS MOTHER THE ONE WHO LOVES HIM THE MOST.
